At Carper’s Retreat we want to provide a quiet space away from the Rat Race. Big carp, lightly fished for, in a beautiful setting, deep in the Norfolk countryside.
The main carp lake is called Longwater, owing to its shape. Longwater has a stock of about 50 carp. All of them are over 15lb, with 30 of those over 20lb’s and a handful over the magical 30. Our fish are a mix of three different strains with some super scaley, some stunning linears, commons and a few bare-flanked bruisers!

Situated a few miles East of Swaffham, Longwater Lake is a different kind of place to spend some time. It’s certainly not your typical lake hire venue. The owner is a long time carp angler who has sought to create a unique environment for both the angler and the carp.

The site is neat and tidy without looking too manicured or too wild. There’s plenty of marginal cover and swims are sensibly spaced to ensure no encroachment on each other.
